John 14:1-4 (Amplified)

1 DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

2  In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

  • Heaven = To raise up. 3 Heavens (atmospheric, planetary, dwelling place of God)
  • In My Father’s house… Heaven is a PATERNAL place only for the Father’s Children.
  • If it were not so, I would have told you… Heaven is a PROMISED place for the Father’s Children.
  • For I am going away to prepare a place for you Heaven is a PARTICULAR place for the Father’s Children.
  • The reality of the promise of Heaven is tied to the character of God. If Heaven is a lie then God is a liar.
  • The reality of the promise of Heaven is tied to the character of Jesus Christ. If Heaven is a lie then Jesus Christ is a liar.

3  And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

4  And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.

JESUS IS THE WAY!  Belief in Jesus and His Finished work on the cross is the only way. Biblical belief begins with total trust (firm belief in His reliability) in Him, adherence (to be faithful to) to Him, reliance (the state of needing someone for help) on Him.

Relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ is critically important.  Why?  Because the closer I get to Christ the more I believe in Him and the more I believe Him.  Secondly, the closer I get to Jesus Christ the more I believe in the Father.  The more I believe in the Father the more I believe His promises for me.

Heaven is a Paternal place.

Heaven is a Promised place.

Heaven is a Particular place.

2 Corinthians 5:1 (Amplified)

FOR WE know that if the tent which is our earthly home is destroyed (dissolved), we have from God a building, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Luke 10:20 (Amplified)

Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

Being PASSIONATE about Heaven causes me to be fulfilled on earth.

Hebrews 11:9-10

[Prompted] by faith he dwelt as a temporary resident in the land which was designated in the promise [of God, though he was like a stranger] in a strange country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs with him of the same promise.

For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God.

Heaven is a Paternal place.

Heaven is a Promised place.

Heaven is a Particular place.

Heaven is a place we must be Passionate about.

WHAT IS HEAVEN LIKE?

Revelation 21:22-23

I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent [Himself] and the Lamb [Himself] are its temple.

And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp (Unhindered by sin).

The best day you have ever seen will be like darkness compared to Heaven.

Heaven is a POPULATED place created as a back drop for fellowship with one another.

Hebrews 12:22-25

But rather, you have come to Mount Zion, even to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless multitudes of angels in festal gathering,

And to the church (assembly) of the Firstborn who are registered [as citizens] in heaven, and to the God Who is Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous (the redeemed in heaven) who have been made perfect, And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].

So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking [to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth [revealing with heavenly warnings His will], how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions and admonishes [us] from heaven?

Revelation 21:10-21

Then in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God,

Clothed in God’s glory [in all its splendor and radiance]. The luster of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal.

It had a massive and high wall with twelve [large] gates, and at the gates [there were stationed] twelve angels, and [on the gates] the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written:

On the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundation [stones], and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

And he who spoke to me had a golden measuring reed (rod) to measure the city and its gates and its wall.

The city lies in a square, its length being the same as its width. And he measured the city with his reed—12,000 stadia (about 1,500 miles); its length and width and height are the same.

He measured its wall also—144 cubits (about 72 yards) by a man’s measure [of a cubit from his elbow to his third fingertip], which is [the measure] of the angel.

The wall was built of jasper, while the city [itself was of] pure gold, clear and transparent like glass.

The foundation [stones] of the wall of the city were ornamented with all of the precious stones. The first foundation [stone] was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony (or white agate), the fourth emerald,

The fifth onyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.

Ladies and gentlemen if Heaven is a lie then God is a lie and assure you God is not a liar.
